The staff are kind and smile, but only the reception staff speak English. There’s a restaurant where the food is good and the prices are very reasonable, though the restaurant staff don’t tend to smile. The hotel sits right by the Thailand border, next to a bank that also serves as a Western Union agency. It’s relatively old but well maintained, with large rooms and two rate options, both quite reasonable. Housekeeping comes every day. A good place to stay briefly while in transit.

Getting in means climbing a flight of stairs from either the car park or the front street entrance, and nobody offered help. Room 804 is large, but there’s no useful shelving, and the only small table is occupied by the jug and cups. There’s plenty of bench space in the bathroom, which seems odd.

The one-hour foot spa massage I tried with my friend on the third floor was a terrible experience. The therapist’s technique was poor and rushed, and the pressure was so light that I felt uncomfortable throughout. It started at 18:35 and ended at 19:16, so it lasted less than an hour. They then asked us for tips and said they only served one customer a day, so we should tip. We gave each therapist 50 baht, and I heard them whisper, “Only 50 baht?” The service, skill, and attitude were all poor. I’d boycott this place.

The room was big, the air conditioning was cool, and it had a small fridge, wifi, and a lift. The shower was good too. The bed was hard, and noise from the pub in the back lane went on until 3 a.m. Light sleepers won’t be able to sleep well.
