Greta Resort and Sport Club

I really enjoyed my stay while I was there for a tennis tournament. The resort is very clean, and the rooms have lovely interiors and views. The room designs are unusual, and the paths and architectural features around the grounds are thoughtfully laid out. The restaurant feels small for such a large resort, but the food was tasty and healthy. Service at the sports facilities was good; the swimming pool service disappointed me, even though the pool itself was good enough. There are five tennis courts, including a center court with space for spectators, plus several beach tennis courts. Playing beach tennis with my friends was so much fun that I’ll always remember it. The resort has a huge area and an eco-friendly theme. It’s a long way from the city, so going out to shops isn’t easy. Even so, I had a great time there.

The resort is quiet and picturesque, with clean, well-kept grounds, so it suits anyone wanting time in nature. It’s not very close to Pattaya City, and there aren’t any convenient shops or restaurants within walking distance. During the tournament, we ate lunch and dinner at the resort restaurant. Our group liked the food, especially the papaya salad, and Greta Coffee also drew visitors from outside. I stayed here with my wife and our two sons, aged 14 and 11, who both took part in a tennis tournament at the venue. The place is large, with international-standard tennis courts and a range of rooms. Our shower area was partly open to the air, in an eco-style design. Breakfast was included and had a limited menu, but enough healthy choices. We enjoyed the beach volleyball, and the pool was beautiful with a natural feel. Room service responded when we needed it. For a tournament, it worked well as an all-in-one resort, and we had a satisfactory stay.

I stop by Greta now and then to play beach tennis. The courts are smooth and level, built to international standards, and there are local players at all sorts of skill levels. They’re better than you might expect, and playing is a fun way to exercise. The courts have a restaurant and bar, restrooms with showers, and seating areas attached. We’re lucky to have a place like this around Pattaya, it’s excellent.

The service took away from the meal. Dirty plates sat on our table for ages while staff gathered nearby, then when someone finally came over, they cleared the clean extra plates instead. We had to ask directly to get our water refilled, and nobody smiled. Given the atmosphere we expected, we didn’t feel welcomed, even though we were dressed and presented well. Most of the food was good. The chicken tamarind soup had great flavor, but the chicken was so tough and full of bones that it was almost impossible to eat. The red curry chicken stir-fry was excellent, with no problems. Crab fried rice was okay, though a little plain.
