Coco Beach Bungalows

The huts were simple but clean, cleaned every day, and in a great spot right by the beach and close to Walking Street. Our four nights at Coco beach bungalows were one of several stops on our Thailand trip, and the nights were quiet. Staff were pleasant, though they seemed bored and maybe would rather be somewhere else. Breakfast is meant to start at 7.30, but staff seemed to start at 7.45. The restaurant could do more to promote meals, drinks, and cocktails like places we stayed at elsewhere, or even stay open until 8.30 pm. We'd still recommend the huts.

The venue is beautiful, which makes the way we were treated even more of a shame. Staff were extremely rude and money hungry, short with us, and showed no empathy or customer service at all. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences during the decade I've been visiting Thailand, but Coco Beach was a bad exception. Avoid it.

We came for the restaurant and found great food at good prices. This side of the island gets a lovely breeze, so it's especially nice to sit here in the afternoon.

We stayed in the new wooden bungalows and wouldn't recommend the other options. The attention and care were spectacular. They'll clean and change the towels and sheets every day if you ask. The bed and pillow were comfortable, the shower was hot, water and coffee were provided daily, and the wifi was fast. It's right by sunrise beach, the most beautiful beach, and about a 7-minute walk into town for restaurants and bars. They also offer food and tours, though we didn't order any or pay for a tour.
