La Luna Italian Restaurant & Accommodation

The rooms were delightful and extremely clean, and showed that a pleasant stay on Koh Lipe doesn’t have to cost a fortune. I also appreciated the hospitality. I liked taking my shoes off indoors, and washing rather than using toilet paper to avoid harming the sewer system and ecosystem. At La Luna Ristorante, an Italian owner and his Thai family bring Italian cooking together with Thai warmth. The homemade pasta, delicately flavoured sauces, and smiling waiters make the food feel magical. Their professionalism, kindness, and friendliness give the dishes a special touch. To me, it’s a lovely example of multiculturalism, with diversity creating positive values and hope.

The food at La Luna was delicious, beautifully presented, and made with high-quality ingredients. You could feel the care in each dish. Staff were polite, helpful, and attentive throughout. The cozy, welcoming setting was clean, well organized, and comfortable, whether for an easy dinner or a special occasion. I’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone after good Italian food, friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere.

There were still plenty of seats besides the two large tables that had been reserved. We were 12 people and politely asked if we could join two tables at the back to make a bigger one. They flatly refused, even though those tables weren’t reserved and there were no other customers at the time. They said we had to book a day ahead. Just awful service.

Davide and the whole team were welcoming and accommodating, and the freshly cooked Italian food each evening was authentic. La Luna was also a great base for exploring Koh Lipe, just off walking street with easy access to the beaches and island amenities. We stayed in a Deluxe Double room with a big balcony and lovely garden views. It was spacious and very clean, with excellent AC, a large comfortable bed, and an indoor sofa area. The bathroom was roomy, and they provided bath towels and beach towels. There was a kettle for coffee, a small fridge with water, and the complimentary croissants, juice, and coffee at breakfast were a lovely touch. I can’t recommend it enough.
