Kanthiya Garden Hotel

It’s a short walk or ride into town, though the hotel itself is tucked away in a lovely secluded spot. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, and the pool and restaurant area were really nice. Breakfast was decent too.

We stayed six nights, and this will be our go-to hotel on future trips. It’s very inexpensive, and the staff were very helpful. The restaurant and bar also had unexpectedly good live music on the weekend. It’s far and away the best hotel in Nam Yuen, with a very short drive to the excellent Nitzer café/restaurant. You could walk, but people don’t walk in Nam Yuen because of the dog problem. It’s not near the “center,” though you’re always taking the car here anyway, so that’s no big deal. Some things could be improved, but if you’re judging it by standards outside rural Thailand, you’ve never been to rural Thailand.

The food was absolutely delicious, the facilities were excellent, and the price was very reasonable. The warm, professional service made an impression, especially Tukta at reception. She was friendly and helpful and made the stay feel even more welcoming. One of the best hotels in Ubon Ratchathani, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

The lovely, friendly staff and beautiful hotel made a great impression. But there’s NO laundry service for personal clothes, which is amazing and extremely annoying. That’s the only downside. I’d give it a 10 otherwise, but this brings it down to 9/10. Get a laundry service quickly, please. Thank you.
