The Harmony Resort

We went for a 5 km jog around the grounds in the morning, with a lovely breeze and terrific mountain views. Breakfast was a hearty meal, and the staff were helpful. We were the only two guests in the wooden villa on Friday night. The room felt a bit shabby and the bathroom layout wasn't great, but the greenery around it and the pleasant sounds of nature made for a beautiful setting. The outdoor areas were well maintained.

The stay was really enjoyable, especially for the eco-friendly thinking behind the resort and the welcoming, helpful staff. I loved the healthy cooking, particularly breakfast, with portions that felt just right. The breakfast bar's self-service bean grinder and drip coffee were a nice thing to look forward to each morning. There's plenty of open space, both in the courtyard and under the rain trees. The decor has a relaxed, rustic, earthy feel, with lots of photogenic spots and what looks like a good setting for festive events. The landscaped outdoor facilities are plentiful. Room facilities are limited, but there's a lot outside to enjoy, including a short walk from the room to Phachi river. The natural surroundings make it a peaceful getaway. Wifi is available around the property, and the room has a cable TV box with Netflix and YouTube. Reception can be weak, though, so the internet may be fine for email or browsing but slow for streaming. Bugs and mosquitoes can be aggressive, so staying in motion outdoors seemed best. It's a shame the setting is so nice but I couldn't quite enjoy sitting on the open-air front porch.

The food and breakfast were tasty, with homemade items and cute flower decorations. Staff were superb, polite, and helpful, and everything showed attention to detail. The room was cozy and practical, and the gardens and landscaping made for a lovely atmosphere. I loved it and would return.

Breakfast was amazingly healthy: salad rolls, chicken breast, boiled egg, rice soup, boiled pumpkin, sweet potato, plus drip coffee. They also had charcoal toast made from homemade bread with homemade jam, and banana pancakes. The room was simple and reasonably clean. A good place to unwind, with lots of open space away from the touristy area. There are plenty of paths along the river and a calm, comfortable chair by the flowing water where you can listen to the soothing sound.
