Sawasdee Sukhothai Resort

The garden setting is peaceful, with trees, flowers, and birds all around. Sukhothai Historical Park is a short bike ride away, and the hotel rents bicycles for 50 baht per 24 hours. This place feels comfortable and charming without luxury prices, and it quietly made our trip better. Our room had the practical things we needed: effective air conditioning, a shower with a wide range of temperatures and strong pressure, coffee and tea, daily water refills, and a small fridge. There was also a binder with nearby restaurants and services, plus affordable in-room massages if you didn't want to go out. The breakfast buffet was generous and stayed well stocked over several mornings. Around the pool, we found plenty of shaded seats, which was welcome in the heat. In the lobby, a polite resident dog and cat seemed to be part of the welcome committee. Check-in was quick and easy, and we were settled in within minutes. The staff were constantly sweeping, tidying, or polishing, but never seemed rushed. They were cheerful and attentive whenever we saw them.

We were disappointed that the resort was fully booked, so we could only stay one night. The owner and her dog were both lovely, and we would absolutely come back. Our bungalow was brilliant, with a private outdoor patio and a peaceful feel. We especially enjoyed the night sky, the delicious breakfast, and the pool. The resort is extremely well maintained and managed, and the location is great.

We had to spend our final night at another hotel because Sawasdee was full, and we really missed this place. We wished we could have stayed longer than our two nights. The owner is on site and takes such kind, thoughtful care of the guests. It felt like being at home. The garden has lovely landscaping and personal touches that give the resort a lot of character. Our bungalow was roomy and comfortable, with a beautiful terrace, and the pool area was open and peaceful, just right for relaxing.

The staff were so attentive that when they noticed we'd left something behind after checkout, they chased us down on a scooter to return it. They also arranged our bus tickets to Chiang Mai for a few days later and helped get us a tuk tuk to the bus stop. Everyone was incredibly friendly. The property is peaceful and beautiful, the rooms are spacious, and breakfast was great. Its location is ideal: you can walk to the historical site or use the provided bikes, and there are several restaurants and cafes nearby. We had a brilliant stay and highly recommend it.
