Les Palmares Villas

That private pool and hot tub made the villa such a lovely place to unwind. We spent time relaxing all around it, and soaking in the tub under a sky full of stars was incredible. The place itself was huge, clean, and amazing. We were wowed as soon as we walked in, and we’d gladly return. Getting in late was a bit awkward. We had told them when we’d arrive, but nobody was there with the key. The security man had it and showed us to the villa, though he didn’t understand English, so communication was difficult. It took us a while to realize he needed our passports, and we never found out where he took them before we left. We also only spoke with the service staff by phone, which didn’t work well. Breakfast was another letdown. We asked for just toast and fruit, but both mornings they brought eggs and sausages instead. We got up late, so the food was left in a very hot kitchen, and the sausages weren’t edible by then. We’d come back, but would probably ask them not to prepare breakfast.

The place was very clean, but a few things need attention. The jacuzzi didn’t work, even after I reported it twice, and some lights were out. There wasn’t a cutting board in the kitchen either. Also, it felt strange that the shower and toilet were outside.

The villa caused me a lot of stress when I’d gone away to relax. The phone in the villa didn’t work, and there was no replacement or other option. Service was terrible, and although they say they speak four languages, you’d be lucky if they understood even a little English. Breakfast was a joke, with very few choices, and it’s better value to buy or make your own. The bedsheets were changed only twice during our stay, the outdoor bathroom wasn’t cleaned for the first four days, and the jacuzzi didn’t work. The bathroom wall is so low that people outside can look in, so there’s no privacy. They’ve claimed I left a bad review because I didn’t get a refund, but I didn’t pay for it in the first place, so that has nothing to do with my review. This is what happened to me, and I feel strongly that travelers shouldn’t be misled. I’d give the villa minus stars if I could. Don’t waste your money here.

The two-bedroom pool villa was great, and the price felt very fair for what you get. Catch beach club is nearby, with really good food and music. We had an amazing stay!
