Pranee Mansion Airport

Room 11 was clean and tidy, with plenty of space and a big, comfortable bed that felt great after a long flight. The airport is about a 10 minute walk away. There are lots of street food stalls and a mini market in front of the hotel, and prices aren’t expensive. I’d recommend it to people who like travelling.

The rooms are really spacious, with good air conditioning, a balcony, and a couple of bottles of water. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the airport if you don’t have huge bags. The hosts are friendly and know their work, though they don’t speak English. If you arrive late, try looking for them around the back of the office.

Plenty of room, and the place was comfortable and clean. Phuket International Airport is within a 15 minute walk. There’s a 7-11, Tesco Lotus Express, a drugstore, and a coffee shop nearby.

We got there at 2PM and found the front desk closed. We entered through the parking area and met a tourist who seemed really upset and pointed us toward an older woman. Her only English word was “booking?” She led us through what used to be an internet cafe, then a laundry, to a dusty, crappy reception desk. She wanted cash, wouldn’t take a card, and wouldn’t hand over the key until we paid upfront. We were assigned room number 1. We thought it might be quiet because it was away from the road, but a broken window let in the sound of tuktuks, trucks, and buses as if we were sleeping beside a motorway. The room was full of old furniture. The paint was covered with signs of past travellers’ battles with bugs and insects, and we had the same problem. Wi-Fi didn’t work. A staff member who didn’t speak English offered to let me sit in the dusty, disused internet cafe to use Wi-Fi. No thanks. The bed was a plywood board with some kind of metal spring mattress that felt like it wanted to get into my spine. It was the worst I’ve had in Asia, ever. I won’t even get into the broken AC, which only had on and off with no adjustment, or the disgusting bathroom. Taking a shower there was torture. I slept 90mn total overnight. I’d read reviews saying the owner would be happy to drive guests to the airport. Clearly not. It made me wonder if the positive reviews were for another place. When we left at 6am, I wanted to speak to the owners and tell them what I thought of the property, but the desk was closed again. It might be closed 24/7. My recommendation is to close the whole building. The airport is a 15/20mn walk. Once we got there, we regretted so much not sleeping at the airport. There are many nice hotels in the area, or closer to the airport, in the same price range.
