Sunshine Guesthouse and Diving School Room Nr 4

I’d happily stay here again. The owner was warm and friendly, and my room was clean, unusual, and had a comfortable bed. I picked the room with the outdoor bathroom and huge tub, which was so much fun. There was help-yourself coffee and toast fixings in the kitchen each morning. The pool was well cared for, and the kitty was friendly too.

The private pool villa made for a dreamy, romantic stay, with a lit pool and jacuzzi. Jens was a super host and really helpful. He rented us a scooter, which made it easy to explore nearby spots, try local food, and visit beaches and viewpoints. The airport is only 4 km away. Choosing this place was one of the best decisions of our trip. Special thanks to Mr Jens for looking after us so well.

I spent six weeks at Sunshine Guesthouse and left feeling more like a friend than a guest. It’s in a handy spot in Nai Yang, about five minutes by scooter from the beach, with other beaches close by too. The atmosphere stays open and friendly, but there’s still privacy, and usually someone around if you need help. I booked the Honeymoon Suite months ahead. It was spacious, with a kitchenette, two sunbeds, and a jacuzzi with a little waterfall. The bed was beautifully made when I arrived, and the patio felt like a small jungle in the evenings. The bathroom and shower were always clean. Cleaning and linen changes were done weekly, with extra cleaning and fresh bedsheets available if needed. There’s also an open kitchen with a fridge, where you can make a sandwich. Jens is a very friendly host who patiently answers questions. He’s lived on Puckett for 27 years and knows the area well, including interesting places to visit. Mornings had a small breakfast buffet, and you could plan the day at the dining table with help from Jens. The front space serves as reception, breakfast area, and kitchen, and the pool outside has a jungle-like feel. You can rent scooters there too. Mine broke down once, but I got a replacement right away, so the day wasn’t lost. I arrived at the end of December after flying to Phuket. The tropical weather took some getting used to, and that first jacuzzi bath was wonderful. I felt comfortable throughout my six weeks and would gladly stay longer another time.

A beautiful place with a great hosting family. Everything was clean and welcoming, and the rooms were well kept. The bathrooms are among the coolest I’ve had. It’s close to two beaches and the airport, and you can rent scooters and bikes there. I’d love to come back for a diving session.
