Grand View Hotel

The showers had strong pressure and hot water, and the hotel felt modern and quiet. But the beds were rock hard and the pillows too high and stiff. My back hurt each night, which is why I rated it lower. It was still one of the better hotels we stayed at.

The room itself was very nice, and it was quiet, though I think I was the only guest. I checked into this luxury hotel and nobody offered to help bring my bag in from the car. There was no kettle or cups, just two hangers in the wardrobe, and the towel rail had broken off. I thought there should be a working restaurant, but it didn't seem to be open. Thank goodness for 7Eleven.

Room 308 was a very bare, austere place to stay on our way to Phu Chi Fah. It had a bed, TV, shower, fridge, and air conditioning, but little in the way of toiletries, soap, or shampoo. For 990 baht, I think you can find a better, cheaper guest house or B&B. The traffic noise from the national road right outside was loud, too. This felt like a motel for truck drivers, so I'd suggest driving on to somewhere more welcoming.

A good place to rest before heading to see the beautiful view at the phu chi fa mountain. The hotel has a big car park and a simple American breakfast, though the counter staff's English is quite poor. There's a restaurant 100 meters to the right and a 24-hour convenience store at the petrol station 200 meters to the left. There are also many motels nearby, plus a good homestay for a similar price. It's the most hotel-like basic option in the area, fine for an overnight sleep, with just the bare minimum.
