Bamboo Garden

We spent a wonderful day and night at Bamboo garden, and have already planned to return. It’s a simple place, not five-star luxury, and that’s not what it’s meant to be. The rooms are made from old wood, simple and spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and a decent shower with good pressure. We also had a cool terrace with a table and chairs where we could relax any time. The shaded pool was beautiful and clean, set in a lovely garden where we spent the afternoon. Oi greeted us warmly and let us check in early. She cooked a delicious dinner and was kind and caring throughout. Her partner Frank built the resort 30 years ago and sadly died three years ago. Frank, you did a good job creating Bamboo garden.

I was there from 30/1/19 to 11/2/19, and the weather was awesome. This little oasis in Udon Thani has lovely gardens and a stunning pool, with very clean accommodation and welcoming service. There were good options on the food and drinks menus, too. I’ll stay again later this year. Definitely recommended.

The garden is small, but it has a pleasant feel around the pool. I could easily have spent the day there with a couple of beers and a book. The other big plus is the welcome from Frank, the UK owner and longtime Udion resident, and his offsider Oi (?). They’re both very helpful and add a lot to the stay. Our room was the best one, and for the price it was adequate for a night. It was clean, the bed was comfortable for me, and the bathroom fixtures worked. The air conditioning was effective but very noisy, so since it was a cooler night we used the fan instead. In hotter weather I’d find it hard to sleep with the aircon on. The shower had the usual Thai low pressure, which is common with small wall heaters. I wish it were different, but it usually isn’t. We picked Bamboo Garden because it was close to a friend’s birthday party. I’d return to see Frank and Oi and relax in their little oasis, though the accommodation itself isn’t the reason. Frank is building a sauna and plans to offer a sauna and swimming package, so keep an eye out. For a fair review, I have to split the rating into three categories since Google only gives an overall star rating. I’d give the accommodation three stars.

A nice choice for families or groups traveling together, with a shared common area and a small pool. The rooms have a fridge, air conditioning, and fast WiFi.
