Hobby Hotel

It's easy to find, and Grabcar services are readily available. There aren't food stalls or restaurants nearby, but that wasn't an issue with Grabcar available.

The rooms are nice and clean, the rates are fair, and there's plenty of parking. The rooms are fairly quiet apart from guests letting doors slam loudly. Housekeeping staff are very nice and polite. Reception is another story: they don't seem to notice guests arriving or leaving, which is unusual for Thailand. Still, you get what you pay for, and it's a great option.

For 650 bht a night, it does the job, and I know it's a budget hotel. Maybe we were unlucky, but it was very noisy. We could hear TVs, toilets flushing, and doors slamming for much of the night. The front door sign said Full, though the car park wasn't. Towels were a bit thin, and each of us had one very well-used pillow.

We stopped for one night on the way to chaing mai. Parking is outside reception, and the hotel was fine. There's no lift, but that was okay since we were on the 1st floor in room 205. Dinner means a short drive into town unless you really like walking. For 650 baht, I can't complain, plus there's a refundable 200baht room key deposit. The room was bigger than many I've had in other hotels, with the usual TV and cable, mini fridge, hair dryer, hanging space, and tea-making bits. Thai-style breakfast was no surprise this far off the tourist path.
