Monarque Dar Jerba Zahra

The hotel was clean and nice, and the staff were really friendly. The food was okay, somewhere in the middle. The animation team were fantastic, with something happening every evening, and it was always good.

I wouldn't recommend Monarch Djerba Zahra Hotel after how awful my stay was. The room was filthy, with a broken bed, sheets that didn't seem clean, and a disgusting bathroom. Meals were cold at times, tasteless, and repetitive, nowhere near what I'd expect even from a two star hotel. The entertainment was a joke, with no energy, creativity, or effort. Reception staff were rude and unprofessional, and gave the impression they didn't care about guests. I've never had a worse hotel experience. There was no comfort, proper service, or cleanliness. Don't spend your time or money here.

The beach was pleasant, though there's some rock underfoot, so take care when the water isn't clear. We enjoyed the food, with plenty of clean options, and the chefs deserve credit. The two pools, a regular one and a thermal one, were clean. The pool entertainment barely existed, and the staff seemed unmotivated. Evenings were okay but could have been better. Check-in was frustrating: they kept asking us to confirm even though we'd submitted the confirmation online, and it took two hours to get a room. For a three-star hotel, though, some of this felt expected and acceptable.

We had a wonderful time. I found some of the bad reviews pretty exaggerated, since our stay was very positive. It’s a cozy place, with welcoming, very friendly staff, and the rooms were clean and looked after, with housekeeping each day. The food was decent and there were options for different tastes, though breakfast was the same every morning. I think most people can find something they enjoy.
