Best Beach Hotel

I requested a room with a sea view and two beds, but they gave me a different room. The service was poor and the room wasn't clean. When we went to reception with a problem, they immediately told us to cancel our reservation. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The location right beside the beach was a real plus, with easy access to the sea and shops, cafes and the city center nearby. I found the area lively and safe. The water was crystal clear, there were enough sunbeds, and the clean pool area was a nice place to relax when I wasn't at the beach. My room was comfortable, clean and well maintained. The bed was cozy, and waking to the sound of waves was lovely. Housekeeping kept it spotless. Food was tasty and varied, with plenty of options. Breakfast stood out for fresh fruit, pastries and hot dishes, and the restaurant staff were polite and helpful. The staff were friendly and smiling from the start, and made me feel welcome. I had a great time at Best Beach Hotel in Sousse. It's a nice fit for a relaxing seaside holiday, and I'd recommend it to couples, families or anyone who wants the sea and everything they need in one place.

The beach was the one bright spot: fine sand and warm water. But that wasn't enough to balance the rest of the stay, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. If visiting Tunisia, I'd choose a proper five-star resort instead. The rooms were dirty and not cleaned regularly. Meals were very limited, with nearly the same things served every day. Hotel drinks were so poor that we bought better ones at nearby shops. The pool was small, dirty and packed, so there was no chance to enjoy it. The staff were overly pushy, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable instead of relaxing. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

The staff were the best part of the stay. Khalid at night reception was especially helpful, and Naggi was around the shop during the day. They went out of their way for guests. Food was repetitive, though there were enough options for different tastes. For what I paid, I wasn't expecting anything else. My room was okay, but fairly plain and basic. It could have been cleaner, and a few other guests had complaints about their rooms too. Getting to sousse takes about 30 minutes by bus. You can flag one down from anywhere, not just a marked stop, and it costs 2 dinah. Wi-Fi was a big drawback, since it was only available at reception and hard to keep connected. The all-inclusive bar kept running out of drinks despite the hotel being far from full. There was no air-conditioning in reception or the food hall, though the room's air-conditioning worked very well. I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it, as long as you don't expect too much for the low price.
