Ksar El Jerid Tozeur

The water in the bathroom barely worked, and there was no elevator. The food was spoiled and the choices were limited. When our agency took us out of this hotel, we even got poisoned. You have to pay for everything, including water and juice. The bathroom was filthy and awful, and the bedroom had no balcony.

I haven't even arrived yet and already hate this hotel because getting in touch has been such a horrible experience. I only wanted help figuring out how to travel from a nearby town to Tozeur and whether guided tours could be arranged. The email on Booking.com doesn't work, and when I contacted them through the app, the automatic response sent me to another email that doesn't work either. They don't have WhatsApp, and the phone number on the listing is disconnected. Completely unreachable.

The toilets were stained with urine, and there were no batteries in the AC remote. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear cars outside, people talking two floors above, and the security guard's music. There was no WiFi in December 2024, and check-in took two hours. Avoid at all costs. Another perfect reflection of the state of the country.

You only get two hours to eat, and there's no free food or drinks. They even charge for water at dinner. The salads are served cold. The restaurant is so small that it gets crowded quickly, and the reception is small too. There are no balconies, no WiFi, and no evening entertainment. The workers weren't very welcoming, and the bathroom doors don't shut, which is really uncomfortable.
