Scenic Hotel Tonga

Heilala restaurant served a world-class meal, even by the standards of someone like me who travels a lot for work in Australia and has tried plenty of different food. We were surprised by the standard of service and accommodation Scenic hotel provided, and hope to bring more of our family and friends next time. Our room was cleaned every day to an outstanding standard. The reception staff were friendly and gave my wife helpful advice about meeting my family, including what to do and what to avoid. Malo.

The rooms and pool are nice, the food is good, and the staff are very helpful. It’s well placed away from noisy areas and close to the airport, so I’d recommend it if you’re staying on this Island. Just keep in mind it isn’t a high-end resort hotel.

It’s the hotel closest to the airport, and downtown Nuku'alofa is about a 40-minute drive away, depending on the time and how quickly locals are driving. Things move at an unhurried pace, so relax and go with the flow. The Scenic’s staff, from the Front Desk to housekeeping and the shuttle drivers, look after you from arrival to departure and try to make your stay as good as possible. I’d happily recommend it, depending on what you want to do and whether you plan to hire a car.

I went to the venue once for a birthday party and had loads of fun. The staff were good too. I’d highly recommend it if you want somewhere away from the city. Note: It’s now called Kupesi Tonga Hotel, under new ownership and management.
