Club Sun Heaven

We had a good time, but more in spite of the hotel than because of it. The grounds looked lovely and clean, with a palm-lined boulevard, pretty garden, and pool area. Alanya is beautiful, and the beach was really nice, a bit rocky but fine with beach shoes. The playgrounds were good for kids, and there were always free loungers at both pool and beach. The food was alright, with plenty of tasty things though some weren't good. Fresh water was added to the minibar daily. Mustafa at reception was friendly. We'd booked and paid for four people, including our six-year-old, but got a room set up for only three: three beds, pillows, and blankets. We asked reception for another set for four days in a row, then gave up. The room AC didn't work and the bathroom was covered in mold. The shared toilets were dirty, and literally everything came with an extra charge. After dinner at 18:30, there was a silly children's movie at 20:00, but they switched it off without warning before it ended. Animation didn't start until 10PM, when my kids and I wanted to be in bed. There was literally nothing to do with kids between 7 and 10PM, then the music got so loud nobody could sleep. I don't have a problem with Russians, but staff seemed to speak only Russian. Everyone addressed me in Russian, and when I asked questions in English they replied, "Sto?"

The pool area was a lovely place to relax, with comfortable loungers and a great atmosphere. It'd be even better if the DJ setup were moved to the main pool, away from the kids' pool and slides. Wi-Fi isn't free, it costs €2 per day per device. I really enjoyed staying at Sun Heaven Family & Spa Hotel in Alanya and didn't want to leave. The DJ and live music nights were highlights, lively and fun. I met several staff members, and most, especially the guys, were very friendly and helpful. I also tried the hammam and massage, both nice and relaxing.

The rooms were modern, clean, and a good size. Breakfast and lunch were okay, dinner was very good, but the snacks and drinks were poor quality. The indoor pool was tiny and very cold, though it was free. For an all-inclusive place, there were a lot of add-on charges: $2 a day for the room safe, $2 a day for Wi-Fi per phone or tablet, and $2 for fresh orange juice instead of the very sweet, sugary, poor-quality juice. Popcorn for kids was $2, and even the sauna and steam room at the spa cost extra. I'd rather pay a bit more upfront than pay for every facility here. Not recommended.

We liked staying here, and our room was comfortable. The rooms and grounds were clean, the service was very good, and it's a nice place for any contingent. The animation team kept us happy too. Aqua aerobics and volleyball were our favorite activities. We'll definitely come back.
