Riviera Zen Hotel Adult Only

The room was clean and modern, so it may suit someone who only needs a small place to sleep. For our wedding anniversary, though, this hotel was a letdown and far too expensive. We’ve stayed at many places around Alanya, and this was the worst. There was no beach access or beach towels, and the hotel had no atmosphere or interesting interior. We checked in, then left within an hour because there was nothing to do. We asked to cancel as soon as we arrived, but were first told that wasn’t possible. Later they offered a partial refund, after we’d already spent time sorting it out. We paid a 50% cancellation fee, and it was still worth it to move somewhere else. We lost both time and money.

The food and location were good, and the kitchen staff were really nice. The reception experience was the reason I wouldn’t come back. They seemed focused on charging for extras, and the late checkout quote was EUR 80, with a different price for each hour. The reception manager and staff came across as very unprofessional. My room view was awful too: from the balcony, all I could see was a white wall and another building’s air-conditioning unit.

We loved how quiet Riviera Zen felt, right in the city center but without the animation, and it was child-free. As a couple, that suited us perfectly. The beach is just across the road, through a pretty park with fountains. There were cats everywhere, and we saw turtles at the cemetery. Souvenir shops are close by too. We also visited Alanya Castle by cable car and Damlatas Caves. Our July 2025 stay was great. The hotel was modern and clean, the staff were kind and spoke English well, and our fifth-floor room had a partial sea view. The cleaners came every day, made fun or pretty shapes with our towels, and even left flowers on the bed. The all-inclusive meals had lots of choice, from meat, potatoes and rice to fries, fruit, vegetables and cakes, with themed dinners sometimes. By the pool bar you could get daytime snacks like cake, fruit and ice cream, and make coffee. Drinks included beer, wine and spirits, but no cocktails. The transfer from Antalya airport took almost four hours. Alanya is a bit far for us, so this may have been our first and last visit, though I’d happily return if it were closer.

The food deserves a 10/10. There was always something different, everything was fresh, and there was plenty to choose from. They explained the dishes, including for people with allergies. The rooms stayed clean and the beds were comfortable. I honestly can’t think of anything the hotel should improve. Service, hospitality, hygiene, location, and the people working there were all perfect. They welcomed us warmly whatever time we arrived and did their best to make us feel at home. If we needed help with the room or something to eat, they were there, and no question was too much. It felt like being with family, not just staying as a guest. I’d recommend Riviera Zen to anyone visiting Alanya.
