The view from our balcony was stunning. We sat there watching the fishermen move their boats, and the breakfast terrace, framed by old castle walls, was lovely too, with flowers, trees, artisan touches, and a ceramic washbowl. Breakfast had a great range, with different options each day, and it was clear they put effort into it. The staff were kind and considerate from the moment we arrived. I was too shy to speak Turkish, so my partner handled the conversation, but I felt safe. We spent a weekend in Amasra as a couple. This place calls itself a hostel, though it feels more like a small hotel, and it recently had to change its name to hostel/pansiyon. For such a small number of rooms, the Marina offers a lot. The room had everything we needed. The only downside for me was the nighttime noise: music from the meyhanes below carried on until about 1am. We knew about it beforehand, but I'm an early riser on holiday and it affected my sleep, which is why I rated the location four stars. Otherwise, the view is well worth it. It's a little gem in a sweet seaside town, and I'd recommend it for a short stay in Amasra. The off-season would be lovely too, when the town is quieter. It was exceptionally busy during our visit.
