We were only there for one night, and the central location was handy. The rooms themselves were good, but mold in the shower put us off using it. It needed a proper clean, and the mold also left a bad smell in the room.

Such a cute hotel. What a shame about the showers, they really need an anti-mold cleaner.
The setting feels authentic: it's on a quiet lane near the shore, in a restored traditional Turkish konak, with nicely decorated rooms. The staff were kind and friendly too. I found the value less convincing, since it costs noticeably more than most nearby hotels while serving a fairly basic breakfast made from inexpensive food you can find in local shops. I'd put it around 3-3.5 stars.
The street is quiet and the beach is only a one-minute walk away, which is really convenient. There's wifi, too. Sadly, I found moisture on the wall in my bedroom.
We arrived around 9 pm after booking through Agoda, excited for the stay, but didn't even get to the door. The receptionist, who was drunk, came to our car and told us he'd given our room away without warning. He took one suitcase on his motorbike as a supposed “favour” while we walked to another hotel. That place was in poor repair and felt seedy. I'm so upset I could go on forever. Not a great welcome to Amasra. Here's a fabulous photo of our host... not 🙄
