Başkent Hotel

A stranger forced our door open while we were trying to sleep. The beds were covered in hair, and there was yellow women's hair on the towels. The air conditioner was broken, breakfast tasted like dog food, and they brought us drinking water that they'd filled from the tap.

I was horrified by the conditions. The room was cramped and very damp, some of the water in it had been refilled, and the breakfast was bad. My friend even found someone else's underwear in their room.

At least the staff are good, but the rest was frustrating. There's no internet, though they act as if there is. The elevator is too small, about two and a half people at most, so it causes problems around breakfast and in the evening. Even when the hotel is only 30% full, you might not get enough to eat at breakfast. The rooms have a strong sewage smell, and the cleaning and tidying seemed half-hearted.

For the price, the rooms and bathrooms were clean enough, and otherwise it wasn't a bad hotel. But we stayed in winter with a broken window. Reception wasn't much help when we reported it, and we spent the night freezing.
