We had two very good nights at Bugday Hotel in Ankara. I’ll admit I was a bit sceptical about its four-star rating, but it earned every star. The breakfast buffet was rich and high quality, and I couldn’t fault it. Rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, with an excellent, supportive bed, which matters a lot to me. They cleaned the room daily and replaced the water bottles. Getting around was easy: the hotel is near a metro station and taxi rank, regular Dolmus pass by, and Ankamall is about a 2 km walk away. It’s also within walking distance of restaurants. There’s a restaurant and bar at the hotel, though we didn’t use them. The room had a price list, and the prices seemed very reasonable. We negotiated a lower rate than the regular Hotels.com price, so the quality and service made it especially affordable. If I’m in Ankara again, I’d have no reservations about returning.

We were especially impressed with the breakfast buffet, which had a wide range of choices for different tastes. I stayed at Buğday Hotel in Ankara with my mother, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well equipped, making it easy to relax. The location was convenient for public transport and nearby attractions. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and attentive. We had a delightful stay, and I highly recommend Buğday Hotel to anyone visiting Ankara. Thanks for the excellent service! A guest from Taiwan 🇹🇼

The room and food were okay, but the service was really bad for a supposedly four-star hotel. Nobody spoke English. The older staff didn’t seem to understand anything.

The room was noisy all night because the hotel’s soundproofing was awful and it’s right on a busy street. The power card kept tripping and clicking every few minutes. I finally removed it so I could sleep, but then there was no heating and I couldn’t charge my phone. The toilet barely flushed, and its loud refill noise was so annoying that I tried to fix it in the middle of the night. Breakfast was meant to run until 10:30, and I went in at 10:10. The only waiter sighed when he saw me sit down, then started clearing all the food before 10:30 without asking if I needed anything. I was toasting bread and hadn’t realized he’d taken away all the hot dishes. When I asked if there was anything left, he pointed at the clock and muttered something. There were still two tables eating and watching TV, but he unplugged the TV right in front of me. I know I woke up late, but I came in before the stated cutoff. If I’d missed 10:30, I wouldn’t have gone in. Nobody explained why the breakfast service was being cut short, and I felt I was treated that way because of my race. This was by far the worst hotel I stayed at during my month in Turkey. For a four-star hotel in the capital, the service and facilities were nowhere near what I’d experienced at small-town hotels in the countryside.

The breakfast spread was the best we had in Turkey, with lots of different foods beyond the usual Turkish breakfast. The room was spacious and a good price, and they were accommodating when we unexpectedly needed to leave our car with them for one night. The location was pretty good, in a safe and interesting area near the train station, though not in the tourist part of town. Just be aware that the shower is only separated by a curtain, with no proper stall.
