Check Inn Hotel Ankara

The staff were humble and very helpful, especially Ulku, who brought things on time and did a great job cleaning the room. The room was clean, and breakfast was superb. We had an awesome stay, one of the best hotel experiences for us. Most people in Ankara don’t understand English, so Google Translate will come in handy.

The bathroom was cold and uncomfortable, with no heating, heated floor, or heated towel rail. It also smelled moldy, the toilet seat was cracked, and paint was peeling from the walls. The old furniture had a lot of suspicious white stains, and the TV was tiny and dated. We stayed three nights. There was no sound insulation at all, so we could hear the neighbors’ TV and coughing as if they were right by our bed. One night a couple was having very loud sex, and every word from people in the “hallway” carried through. Smells came through too, including cigarette smoke from a neighbor. There’s just one very small elevator, fitting four slim people at most, or two with moderate luggage. It could’ve been worse, but I wouldn’t stay again. I’d recommend avoiding this place.

The restaurant food was nice, and the staff were nice too. The bed, sheets, and pillows were clean, but the couch and chair were so dirty that we didn’t want to sit on them. There’s no sound insulation, so you hear what’s going on in nearby rooms. Although the rooms are meant to be smoke-free, smoke from someone on the floor gets into all the rooms because of the poor insulation.

Breakfast had a good selection, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size with a lovely, comfortable bed. It’s a relaxed, welcoming place, with everything close enough to wander around and spend time nearby. The price was good, and we’d stay again.
