The receptionist was the best part of the stay. She got someone to turn off the heat in my room, though it was still stuffy and hot by night. The whole hotel was 28°C, the thermostat didn't work, and the window wouldn't open. The hotel looked new and cleanliness was okay, but the rooms felt like a tacky children's playhouse or kindergarten. The shower was fine. The restaurant was painfully slow at dinner and breakfast. At dinner, my table and all its napkins were soaking wet. I waited 30 minutes for someone to clean it, then did it myself. Soup took 40 minutes and was so tiny it took five spoonfuls to finish. The next dish took nearly another 40 minutes and was just a small handful of rice with an unseasoned chicken leg. The two young servers were extremely slow and never checked if anyone needed anything. They looked like they were panicking and had never done this before. Breakfast was meant to start at 6.30 because our group of 40+ was leaving at 7.00, but it didn't open until 6.48. The portions seemed meant for five people, food ran out straight away, and they didn't refill the trays for 15 minutes. We had to stay longer so everyone could eat something. You also can't pour your own tea or coffee. Everyone had to queue for one older woman to serve them one at a time. I've travelled across many countries and hotels, and I've never seen that before. The lobby fruit was rotten and covered in flies. It wasn't the worst stay of my life, but it was one of the least enjoyable.
