Atalla Hotel

The staff were friendly, and the location near the old town was fine. We booked three rooms for my family. The rooms were an okay size, but only one of the three had working air conditioning and a fridge, and none of the TVs worked. There were several issues in our room: the shower door was broken, the bathroom was tiny, the window wouldn’t shut properly, and one balcony door wouldn’t open. The main door lock in one room was loose. I complained a couple of times, but it wasn’t repaired. One room was on the first floor, where the ceiling was quite low, as the picture shows. Breakfast was very basic.

The room was filthy, and the cleaning barely helped. The cleaner only had a brush, no mop, so our feet would have gone black if we hadn’t worn slippers. The sheets weren’t changed during our stay, and there was mould at the bottom of the furniture, with tape along its base. They’d replaced the entrance door but left the surrounding area needing repairs. Only some of the lights worked, and the TV was about the size of my hand. Breakfast was poor, with few choices, and the spoons and forks in the breakfast area were dirty. This was the worst hotel room we’ve ever had. It doesn’t deserve its three-star rating.

The location is fab, and the staff are very obliging. The rooms, though, are old and tired and need an upgrade. The beds don’t have protective covers and need a really good clean. They’re awful.

We ended up leaving Attalla early and booking another hotel because of the bad smell in my room. The balcony door was broken, and the AC didn’t work. I told the manager, but nobody wanted to come upstairs and try to fix it. Breakfast was cucumber and egg if you were lucky. There was no water or juice, only Turkish tea.
