Best Western Plus Khan Hotel

The Khan hotel is an especially convenient base: downtown shops, restaurants, historic sights, and mosques are close by. I walked to the Antalya Clock Tower, Mevlevi Dervish Lodge Museum, and the harbor. The T1A tram at Ismetpasa station is about five minutes away, as are several bus stops. I took a bus to Sandland, and getting to and from Antalya (AYT) airport was easy. There were also striking views of the Antalya mountains from my window and balcony. The hotel left a fruit basket as a welcome gift, which was a nice touch. I stayed at the Best Western Plus Khan Hotel for two nights in November 2025. My room was much bigger than expected and had a separate foyer, but cleaning could have been better. There were crumbs on the floor, marks on the walls, and the decor and some furnishings felt dated or worn on closer look. The jacuzzi seemed poorly maintained: dirt and hair came out when I tried it, and water leaked onto the bathroom floor. It was fun to try, but needs work. The two TVs had different channel selections, with many in the foyer and only a few in the bedroom. The free breakfast was okay, with eggs, fruit, vegetables, bread, and other items. Staff didn't quite understand how to make the eggs hard or scrambled. Like some Turkish hotels, they served honeycomb, while the orange juice was a sweet drink like SunnyD. The hallway smelled a bit smoky. The hotel has an art gallery with art for sale from the Turkey Culture Route Festival, a deserted fitness room where the light switch was hard to find in the dark, and a pool that was closed during my off-season visit. Upstairs, the 21+ Red Room lounge offers alcohol and cigars, with a nighttime city view. Service during this stay was fine, but I had trouble reaching the hotel the month before. I'd also visited Antalya in October 2025 and first booked the Khan. When my arrival date changed, Best Western customer service in the U.S. could change the reservation's end date but not its start date, and directed me to the hotel. I emailed and got no reply, so I canceled and stayed at the Residence Inn instead. The Residence Inn has fancier rooms and better service, but costs more and was harder to reach. The Khan is a better bargain and easier to access. Both hotels are good; which suits you depends on your budget and plans in Antalya. I'd be happy to stay at either again. I didn't see any cats inside, which could be a plus or minus depending on how you feel about furry felines.

The breakfast was top tier, and the staff were helpful and friendly. A receptionist wearing a headscarf, whose name I can't remember, did everything she could to treat guests kindly and respectfully. An Iranian staff member also used her phone to give me directions to places and tourist spots. On my second day, a lovely Turkish cleaner politely knocked to ask if she could tidy my room. She cleaned carefully and patiently while I was out. The hotel management should do everything they can to support, protect, and look after the cleaners. They're an asset to any business. For all that, I can't give this place less than five stars.

Renovation work directly above our room made the noise almost unbearable. Even loud music through noise-cancelling headphones barely covered it, and staying in the room was nearly impossible. One day, water leaked through the floor above and dripped across the whole bathroom ceiling, like rain. When we raised the noise with reception, they said it wasn't that loud, which might be true downstairs, but on the seventh floor it felt like sleeping at a construction site. I have a recording. They also said the hotel was full and we could find somewhere else if unhappy. They claimed work started after 10 a.m., though it began around 8 a.m. and stopped us resting on holiday. They wouldn't discuss a discount or refund. The only compensation offered was a plate of fruit, which I still don't understand as a response to constant noise.

The hotel is a little dated, but the prime location and five-star service more than make up for that. It's close to the main attractions and only a four-minute walk from Mark Antalya mall. Everyone was super friendly, from reception to breakfast and room service, and they were professional and happy to go the extra mile. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Special thanks to the gentleman at reception and the Bex cafe guys, always smiling, chatty, and courteous. I'll visit again. Thank you for making the holiday so special. 🙏
