Erkal Pansion

I stayed for an extended period and had a great experience. The old town location was perfect, with the main sites and attractions within walking distance, yet the hotel is on a quiet side street, so it was restful. My spacious, comfortable room had a large bathroom, fridge, and kettle. Reliable internet was a big help while I was working. The staff spoke English and were always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and good value for money.

The location in the old neighborhood of Kaleci was perfect, within walking distance of bars and restaurants. The receptionist was very friendly and spoke English well enough. But the building was worn and smelled strongly of urine. My room was clean but unattractive, with old, mismatched bed sheets, and a view of a messy, dirty courtyard. I was glad I stayed only one night.

The bed was fine and the staff were friendly, but the place still has a lot of potential it isn’t living up to. The kitchenette was incomplete, the shower took ages to warm up and didn’t drain properly, and the towel had specks on it. I’m sure it had been washed, but it didn’t look fresh. The white lighting was very cold.

The location is a real strength, and the owner’s hospitality made the place feel welcoming. Still, the nighttime experience can suffer because of the night watchman’s behavior. Some guests have said his manner made them uncomfortable and felt more like a hostel than a guest-oriented establishment. Erkal Pansion in Antalya, Turkey, would be a more enjoyable and harmonious place if the watchman treated guests respectfully and courteously at all hours. The owner’s help and the good location are positives, but the nighttime approach needs attention.
