The hostel has a genuinely social feel. People hang out in the kitchen and on the rooftop, so it seems like an easy place to meet travelers. But the private room didn’t live up to its price or what I expected. There are cracks around several door frames, the paint is peeling, and the bathroom isn’t nice to look at. The shower takes ages to heat up and only works properly when you hold the pipe at a particular angle. The bedding was odd too: they gave us the inside of a duvet without a cover, which felt uncomfortable and unhygienic. Be aware that they only take cash. That was frustrating and hadn’t been made clear beforehand. Noise was another big problem. A nearby bar played loud music late into the night. It was well past midnight on Saturday and still going, making it hard to sleep unless you’re a deep sleeper who doesn’t mind constant noise. The social atmosphere is a plus, but the room, noise, and cash-only policy don’t justify the price of a private room. There are better options nearby. If meeting people matters more to you and very basic facilities are fine, it could still suit you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it.

It’s a great base for walking around the old town or down to the sea wall, and the staff and other guests were very friendly. My private room was comfortable and had a small balcony. The terrace bar has a lovely view and a good selection. The shower stall smelled a bit, though, and the water pressure was poor.

The hostel’s social scene was amazing, thanks in large part to the wonderful staff. Baran took us on pub crawls and showed us a good party. Adam & Mutsfa were always there when we needed them, and Hakan made us feel at home as the most welcoming host. The amenities were awesome too. We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve never had such a poor welcome at a hostel. The owner had emailed to say I could check in before 12pm, but when I arrived, I was told the room wasn’t ready. Then the owner greeted me with some Aussie slang and got in my face, telling me to leave. I wouldn’t recommend this hostel. The owner needs to reassess why he owns one.

BED BUGS! On our first night, we’d been lying down for less than an hour when our backs were covered in bed bug bites. We reported it and they moved us to another room, insisting there were no bed bugs, but there were. After the move, we saw them trying to clean, and we weren’t bitten again. The rooftop is nice, but dealing with bed bugs was an absolute nightmare.
