I’m making a formal complaint about my stay and asking for a full refund. The room I received didn’t match the website photos or description. It was in unacceptable condition, with a strong cigarette smell, missing tiles in the shower area and a broken air conditioner. These defects mean the service wasn’t provided as advertised or agreed. Under Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the Turkish Code of Obligations, services must conform to the contract and promotional representations, and this room clearly doesn’t meet those requirements. Please respond promptly so we can resolve this amicably. If not, I’ll have to submit a complaint to the Consumer Arbitration Committee (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti).

My girlfriend and I knew the Mera Park Hotel was budget friendly, but finding bed bugs crawling across the beds was beyond what we expected. We went straight to reception and calmly reported it, hoping for some help. The receptionist was rude and dismissive, refused any refund or compensation, and wouldn’t even make eye contact. We had to leave immediately and pay for somewhere else to stay. That response was unacceptable at any price. For your comfort and safety, don’t stay here unless you want a bed bug sanctuary instead of a hotel.

There was no internet, and a drunk woman shouted throughout the night and then the whole day. The police came, but we still couldn’t sleep. My belongings were stolen by the cleaner, even though I’d asked them beforehand not to clean the place. The whole experience was horrible.

Booking through Airbnb was great value, since the hotel charged much less than its usual rates. The room was spotless, the beds comfortable, and the large windows and balcony gave a good view outside. The staff provided exceptional service and made the stay comfortable and enjoyable. I’d highly recommend the hotel for its quality, service and affordability, and give it a well-earned 4/5 stars.

The room was very small, the shower was broken, and there was no kettle or drinking water in the room.
