Villa Tulipan

The neighborhood was noisy at night, with bars nearby and drunk people shouting around 3 AM. It woke us twice every night, and after two nights I decided to leave. We had booked 12 nights, but checked out after the second and had to pay the cancellation fee. We were in room No. 6 on the first floor. When we arrived, there was a strong musty, moldy smell throughout the space, and the bathroom felt unhygienic. The furniture was old. The online photos didn't match the room we got. I don't recommend this place.

The rooftop terrace is the highlight, with panoramic views over the sea and the rooftops of Kaleiçi. It's a perfect spot to start the day. Breakfast was fresh, traditional, and generous. The staff made Villa Tulipan special for us, everyone was kind, welcoming, and helpful.

The rooftop is in a prime spot, and after trying breakfast at three other places, this was the winner. Everything was so fresh. Our room was simply but perfectly decorated, with a Turkish hammam bathroom. The service was incredible, so helpful and welcoming. We had our youngest son with us, just three months old, and the staff were so loving. We'd love to stay again!

We got a good breakfast brought to the room for 350 liras because it was cold, though it's normally served on the terrace. Pets stay free. There are lots of cats, and one kept trying to get into our room, so be aware of that. The furniture is quite old, the curtains don't block out the light, and there's no smart TV. It's okay for a night or two, but for a longer stay I'd choose somewhere else at around the same price.
