The private swimming area was the best part of the property. There are sea urchins by the pier, which was the one downside, though it usually wasn’t a real problem. We stayed at Veranda Glamping for two days in September, when the water in Assos is at its warmest. Our room was very clean, the hot water worked well, and the air conditioner was exceptionally quiet, even compared with a regular hotel room. Meals and breakfast were good, too. The menu is limited because it’s a glamping site, but the food is restaurant quality and the portions are generous. If you want somewhere clean, private, and quiet in Assos, Veranda is a good choice.

Really pretty and comfortable, and the food is good. I’d recommend visiting and staying here.

The whole stay was great, and the view was a nice extra. We spent both days at the resort in a Caravan Suite and felt comfortable throughout. Everything seemed carefully thought through, from the very comfortable bed to the pleasant veranda where you can sit with a drink and listen to the waves. Cleanliness was 10/10, and so were breakfast and lunch. We didn’t try dinner, but the appetizers are made fresh daily, and based on the meals we did have, I doubt dinner would disappoint. Restaurant prices are reasonable. A big thank you to the staff, especially head chef Mr. Uğur and the rest of the team. They were friendly and helpful, always ready with a hand before we even had to ask. It felt like being in a scene from Fatih Akın's Soul Kitchen movie :)

You get attentive, welcoming service here at affordable prices, and the restaurant food is genuinely delicious. The rooms are clean and nicely designed, and the view is magnificent. The shore water is clear and clean, though you have to use the pier stairs to get into the sea. Getting here may require a car.

Getting here without a car is a real struggle. Public transport is infrequent and can disappear altogether, with several transfers and deserted bus stops. There aren’t buses to Ayvacık from every city, so coming from Küçükkuyu can mean even more changes; minibuses may seem to be going straight there, then leave you somewhere else. Taxis from Küçükkuyu or Ayvacık are around 1700 lira, and the trip can take a long time. Still, the place is affordable and beautiful, and generally worth the effort if you aren’t after luxury. The rooms, service, food, pier, sea, comfort, and cleanliness are all fantastic. Even the basic tent is cool, comfortable, and affordable, with a fan. There are also much more comfortable rooms and caravans with sea views, air conditioning, and their own shower and toilet. You can sleep well under the olive trees in the fresh air. Evenings are pleasant and not hot, though blankets are available if you get cold. It’s usually breezy, and there was one day and night without any breeze, but that was fine. At times it can get so windy that it’s hard to stand on the pier, and the sea gets quite choppy. I extended my holiday so many times that I ended up exhausted. There aren’t many entertainment venues nearby, and this is a very small place. People mostly come for the Restaurant & Beach and the pier. From August 18-25 it was generally quiet, and I stayed there alone and felt quite safe. The water was cooler than I expected, likely because of the currents, but not as cold as I’d thought. It’s mostly rocky, and the shallow areas aren’t suitable for people who can’t swim because of the rocks. People usually snorkel, and the water is clear and beautiful. They say there’s lovely marine life to see. I also had my first octopus here, after hearing such high praise from customers who travel the world. The owners, Mr. Adnan and Ms. Seval, and staff members Mr. Ahmet and Mr. Uğur are all very gracious and sweet. There’s so much peace and quiet here. One drawback is the limited choice of affordable snacks and meals. Nearby hotel restaurants have things like toast, but breakfast here isn’t especially varied or tasty. You don’t always want a full meal, especially when camping and there’s only one buffet. Without a car, it’s hard to bring much food on the bus, particularly if you plan to eat at your tent.
