Hotel Billurcu

Never again. It's all about money here. Everything is horribly expensive and you don't get what you pay for: beer is 5€ when it usually costs 2€, a burger is around 8€, and using the pool for two kids for one day costs 22€. You can't bring your own food or drinks to the beach because they want to sell their expensive stuff. The good old days of great service are unfortunately over. Not recommended.

We had a great time at Hotel Billurcu and hope to come back soon. I returned from our three-week stay three weeks ago, before the main travel season, and the hotel was fully staffed and ready to go. All the staff were attentive and friendly. The owner welcomed us warmly and told us about nearby sites and activities, including historical site tours, boating, diving, and fishing trips that could be arranged through the hotel. They also handled our request for money exchange. The hotel had single and double rooms as well as apartments with kitchenettes. The beach was well maintained, and an employee brought lounge chairs as soon as we arrived and asked if we needed anything. The pool and lobby were clean and welcoming.

We stayed here for two days with our five-year-old daughter. The sea was cold, but the pools were really nice for adults and children. Aside from alcohol, the extras were reasonably priced. Thanks to all the staff, we had a great time and would stay longer if we get the chance to come back.

The first evening of our three-night booking, the power went out, along with the water and, of course, the Wi-Fi. Our room smelled of sewage, the bathroom was filthy, and there were clumps of hair on the balcony, presumably left by the previous guest. Breakfast was poor, so I decided not to stay. The owner, Levin, agreed to refund me, but when no bank transfer arrived, I went back to ask and the receptionist said there would be no refund after all. I was upset and asked for the keys back if they were keeping my money, since I didn't want them renting out a room I'd already paid for. The owner refused both the keys and the refund. Then a staff member called me rude, spat on my mother, and raised her arm as if she might hit her. We have since filed a police report. I've never dealt with such unprofessional behavior. I wouldn't stay here because of the unhygienic conditions, and the hostile staff and what felt like scam-like lies made things worse. In response to the owner's reply, the continued denial of responsibility and repeated lies are damaging to the business. It's sad to see a man of his age behave this way. I'm writing to warn future guests so they don't go through what we did. I hope he deals with the hostile, violent staff member and takes customer feedback seriously. Also, it's obvious to me that the five-star reviews were paid for. If you're considering booking, the one- and two-star reviews give a more accurate picture of the hotel.
