The young staff we met were kind and polite, and clearly tried their best. Still, their effort couldn’t make up for how disappointing this stay was. My wife and I had visited before for coffee and sightseeing and liked the hotel, so we booked the Deluxe room for a day, expecting the advertised Jacuzzi and balcony. The room was spacious and airy, but the hot water for the Jacuzzi didn’t work. Once we got it going, it smelled awful, apparently because the drains were clogged. In the shower, we found that the shampoo and body lotion hadn’t been replaced. The shower drains were blocked too, and the bathroom flooded. Then we discovered the toilet hadn’t been cleaned and was still used. We went to the riverside for dinner, hoping to at least enjoy the view. But the hotel also serves outside guests for dinner and breakfast, including people who were often drunk and barely able to see. Our pleasant dinner was cut short, and we went back to our room. I’m sorry to write this, but people should know what happened. It’s a shame to see a hotel with such a lovely location, peaceful setting, and architecture like this.

We had a lovely weekend here. The doors are really original, and eating beside the sound of running water was a treat. Breakfast was delicious, and the other food and service were good too. Everything was clean, the staff were very kind and checked in often to see if we needed anything. I don’t think the price is excessive. It deserves five stars.

The restaurant food was good and fairly priced, and the quiet atmosphere is nice for relaxing. There may be a DJ or live music on Saturday nights, though, which could bother some people. We stayed one night, and most of it was pleasant. I walked straight into the restaurant’s sliding glass door because I hadn’t noticed it. I hit it pretty hard. The people I took to be the owners just looked and laughed, and nobody asked if I was okay or what had happened. Apparently others have walked into it too, but there were no warning signs on the glass.

Tevfik Fikret had his Aşiyan, and this is my own retreat. It’s wonderful for clearing your head, with the almost hypnotic sound of cool water flowing down Mount Ida’s many-spring slopes. It deserves to be a highlight of any nature outing.

We were very happy with our stay. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly, cheerful, and professional. The welcoming atmosphere made it easy to unwind, and with the Ayazma stream right beside it, you can also try the canoeing. It’s a lovely choice for a relaxing holiday that still won’t feel boring. Definitely add it to your places-to-visit list.
