Attalos Suites Hotel

You may not get much sleep if your neighbors are noisy. To me, this is a guesthouse, not a hotel with suites, and the photos don’t match what it’s like. It was okay, but no more than that. At half the price, I’d say it was worth it.

The location is handy for the acropolis and still fairly close to the center, but the patio layout doesn’t make the rooms quiet. Music played through the day and late into the night, and guests chatting over drinks were a disturbance. We also had to ring the front doorbell because guests aren’t given a key, and that sound carried into the rooms. We had booked a room with a bubble bath, only to be told it wasn’t included when we arrived. The bathroom door wouldn’t close properly, the sink tap leaked, and the shower cabin seemed poorly maintained. Breakfast was overpriced, and the staff didn’t speak English.

Tavuk kept the kitchen open for us when we arrived late, which was great. We enjoyed the pool and the rooms, and the place had a resort feel. Breakfast was amazing, with about a dozen dishes, and dinner was good too. Prices were reasonable, around 300-400 depending on what you ordered. There’s a lovely outdoor terrace for eating, and the gondola was within walking distance. We walked there and then back down through the ruins without any trouble. Wish we’d stayed longer.

From the moment I arrived, the attentive, friendly staff made me feel at home. The room mixed modern style with a cozy feel, and the details, from the bedding to the artwork, were lovely. The amenities were great too: I enjoyed the pool and a delicious meal at the on-site restaurant. The location made it easy to get to local attractions and nightlife. This charming, almost famous boutique hotel went beyond what I expected. My stay was a real pleasure, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable, luxurious visit. It deserves its five-star rating.
