Serapion Hotel

Pretty cheap, and it's okay.

A good, basic hotel.

Just right.

Here are a few things that happened, and you can decide if one star is fair. After we checked in, I asked where we could leave the car. They said we could park on the road, or use an empty spot at the back. But the supposed parking spot was full of construction rebar and garbage containers. Our room was on the third floor, with no elevator. At least the air conditioning worked. The TV and refrigerator didn't. I fixed the antenna connection to get the TV working, and when I reported the broken refrigerator, they handed me the key to another room and told me to swap refrigerators. My wife and I had to carry it ourselves. The towel was so old its edges were fraying and coming apart. There wasn't a single hook in the bathroom to hang it. The shower floor still had sand from the previous guest, which left me wondering how the room had been cleaned. Breakfast wasn't a buffet, and for both mornings we got the same plate: tomatoes, cheese, boiled eggs, butter in a packet, honey, cream cheese, and olives. We put up with that, but then noticed two motorcycles and a bicycle parked between the tables in the breakfast room. I don't know whether they belonged to guests. You can decide whether my one-star rating is too low.
