Derya Pension

My 10-month stay here was horrific, and I deleted the review I wrote about it. I still have a copy, though, and will post it if I find the pension is still under the same ownership. What I wrote was factual, and the photos showed what was behind the facade. I’ll be keeping an eye on it.

I only booked here because I’d forgotten to reserve my usual hotel in Bodrum and was left without a room. I wish I’d slept in my car instead. The place was damp, filthy, and smelled of sewage, like a dog kennel. I’d already paid, or I would have walked straight back out. I lay awake dreading the morning. Don’t waste your money here, sleep in your car or on the beach.

The whole place was shockingly dirty. The beds were filthy, the sheets looked about 20 years old, and the pillows had gone yellow. They even switch off the air conditioning when you leave the room. I couldn’t bring myself to lie down on the bed, and I’m worried someone could get sick staying here. I don’t believe the positive reviews, they seem to come from the people who suffer here and their friends. Places like this should be shut down. Shame on them for treating guests this way.

It’s a clean, hygienic family guesthouse, and getting around from here is easy since it’s close to Bodrum center. The staff were attentive, and the nearby bars and restaurants make it a good spot if you like going out at night. I also found the prices very reasonable. Thanks for the service and care, I’d recommend it.
