Ha La Bodrum

That garden made the stay for me. Its lovely shape gave the hotel a calm, tucked-away feel as soon as I arrived. It turned out to be a charming and comfortable place, and I left feeling it had gone beyond what I expected.

We stayed at Ha La Bodrum for a few days and had such a lovely time. Our superior suite spread across almost three floors, with vintage furniture and decorations that gave it lots of character. The staff were kind and helpful, and the hotel is a great fit if you like animals. Cats and dogs wandered around us, and one evening we even spotted a hedgehog. ❤️ We'd happily recommend it. Breakfast was so pleasant that we kept sitting around for hours afterward, chatting and enjoying the space. The back seating area is beautiful, and the backyard trees are full of fruit, lemons, mandarins, and pomegranates that you can pick and eat. The villa is about 500 years old and feels wonderfully traditional, yet the port is only a two-minute walk away. Ayça was a welcoming host who speaks great English. We loved wandering around and feeling at home here. A great stay, and we'll be back.

The garden cats have a way of looking at you over breakfast, and there are two little dogs too. The beagle tends to walk away, while the white-haired one may try to come into your room if you're in the garden suite. You'll also spot him making his usual rounds in town. In high season there's a small, sophisticated cocktail party in the garden each night. You can hear the music, though I enjoy the sound of people having a good time. A few staff members speak English; with the others, we got by with smiles and gestures. This is a quiet, authentic stone farmhouse in a good location, best approached with an open mind. There's no TV, and the Wi-Fi barely works. Even the service mistakes somehow make me love the place more.
