The gym was probably the only real highlight for us: it’s spacious, and there’s also a cold pool on the hotel’s top floor. The rooms were decent, though much too dark at night, with no main light, just separate lamps to switch on one by one. We could also hear other guests talking through the thin walls. We spent three nights over New Year’s Eve, and the celebration was the biggest letdown. We’d been promised the large underground hotel hall, but instead we were sent to Monkeys night club next door, which was tiny. That was what our Bulgarian agencies, Nişikli & Travelia, had been told as well. The meal was just the usual evening menu, the alcohol was cheap and unremarkable, and dessert was stale breakfast fruit under whipped cream. It came as only three plates for each table, not individual portions. Staff took my alcohol at the entrance and returned it when I checked out, which was a strange policy. Breakfast and dinner were decent, nothing special. Getting to Istanbul city center took about 3.00h each way. This did not feel like a 5 star hotel.

The hotel itself is pleasant and matches its ratings, but I had a bad experience with some staff. When they searched me after I bought cosmetics, they looked through the contents of my bag each time. Then, for New Year 25/26, a manager took a gift meant for my business partner, who is also a hotel guest. She argued unnecessarily and said he wouldn’t be allowed back into the hotel if he took the gift. When I asked why, she discreetly called security and told me I could see that she was right, not me. I’ve never had anything like this happen before. It felt like a bad mafia tactic.

Our room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed. We’d requested a quiet, non-smoking room and got one. Breakfast was an open buffet at a reasonably good time, and the staff were polite and helpful.

We were here with my family for our wedding and loved the stay. Marie handled our spa treatments, and I believe she does them all. The spa was great and reasonably priced, with a full hammam for a Turkish bath. Our room was immaculate, and the staff were so kind. Breakfast was amazing too, a huge spread in a lovely dining room with panoramic views. It’s worth upgrading to include it. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance, including a pharmacy, grocery store, and small mall. The bus stop is close, and you can take the bus to the train for a trip into Istanbul. I’d definitely recommend Eser!

The towels had black spots and weren’t clean. Staff in the swimming pool area were aggressive, and the rules felt stupid. The place didn’t seem reliable. I wouldn’t recommend visiting, it’s not even a 2 star hotel.
