Ayder Koru Otel

The view was nice, but the service was terribly bad. Our food arrived extremely cold. When we asked about it and tried to explain our frustration over the high, unjustified prices, they yelled at us aggressively and nearly threw us out. One man came over to “calm the situation,” but he was just as mean as his colleagues. A big disappointment.

The staff were welcoming and went out of their way to help, including carrying our heavy bags up to the second floor. The hotel was cozy, right in the middle of town, and the room was beautifully designed. I loved using the fire box when the weather turned cold. It felt like a lovely retreat. If you want an uphill room within walking distance of local stores, this is the place for you. We had a wonderful stay.

The tea was okay, but the way customers are treated was awful. I stopped for tea and was told I owed 200 lira to park my motorcycle for an hour. After the owner's reply: I brought water that wasn't on the menu and made a protein shake on the terrace because it was raining. Nobody asked me about the shake. If someone had, I would've apologized and taken it away. The only thing mentioned to me was the parking charge. If parking costs money, customers should be told before they come in, not afterward.

Set up in a lovely mountain location, Ayder Koru Otel Cafe made for a really enjoyable break. The Turkish coffee was authentic, the Amirikano was made very well, and the desserts were delicious. A refreshing change from the usual, and definitely worth a visit.
