Underground Cave Suites

Seeing dozens of colorful hot air balloons float past the window and rise above the hotel in the morning was one of those unforgettable Cappadocia moments. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the suites had a traditional, atmospheric Turkish design that made the stay feel connected to the place. The family who run the hotel made it feel personal from the start. Ali, the owner, was attentive and welcoming, sharing local suggestions, arranging taxis when we needed them, and staying up to greet us at the door after late dinners. We felt treated like family. This underground cave suite hotel offered a very different experience from a chain hotel, with clean, traditional luxury and a warm atmosphere. It felt like coming home while still being an immersive cultural stay. Highly recommended.

The terraces were a lovely place to watch the balloons each morning. There are three levels, and one has cushions and carpets where you can sit and relax. One morning a balloon passed just over us, close enough for us to greet the passengers. We had a wonderful honeymoon here. Our cave suite was gorgeous and felt authentic, with a hot tub and TV for extra comfort. The room had been decorated for our honeymoon in advance, as I’d requested by email. The host family were friendly and hospitable, and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Breakfast was a filling traditional Turkish meal, served promptly each morning. Çavuşin is a quick taxi ride from Göreme, but far enough from the busy town centre to feel peaceful. We’d definitely recommend it.

The quiet setting made this feel like a good-value alternative to staying in busy, noisy Göreme. It was peaceful here, the rooms were clean and well kept, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a great start to the day. The balloons were the most memorable part. We could watch them from bed in the morning or step onto the balcony as they flew close by. Waving to the people in them was magical. The hotel also provides bikes, which is handy if you’re traveling without a car, and it’s easy to get to both Göreme and Avanos.

Breakfast was a daily highlight, with everything freshly made by the family. We loved the terrace views too, definitely a 10/10. We arrived a few hours early and they let us check in ahead of time, which was such a help. Ali and his family were great hosts and made us feel at home. He helped organize the balloon tour and other excursions. The prices felt fair, and we didn’t feel pressured or ripped off. It’s rare to meet people as kind as Ali and his family. We loved our stay and would absolutely come back.
