Hotel Kardelen

The mountain setting was lovely and felt warm and peaceful, with beautiful air and nature and some great evening entertainment. The room side was a letdown: they were small and not nice, and the linens smelled. We asked for fresh ones and the staff sorted it out, but they should have checked first. The towels were dirty too. When my hair clip fell under the bed, I found piles of dust and rubbish while looking for it. Dinner was really good and we enjoyed it, but don't expect much from breakfast: there were boiled eggs and nothing hot. The shower's hot water kept cutting in and out, and there was no hairdryer in our room. They said they had collected the broken ones, but hadn't replaced them.

Being up in the highlands was lovely. We slept under blankets in midsummer. The rest was a mixed bag: breakfast was practically nonexistent, and the toilets were so awkward that I had to sit sideways. There was no elevator, so I carried four suitcases up five floors with nobody there to help. The main course could have been much better if the aunt glaring angrily at everyone hadn't put it right in the middle of my meze plate. Other than that, it was good.

The natural setting and atmosphere are undeniably great. I'd say the restaurant may have the best lamb chops in the region.

We had tasty dinner with a good variety of appetizers. The rooms were spotless, the bathroom was roomy, and they switched on the heating at night. In the morning, the plateau view and the wonderful air were enchanting.
