Acer Gunes Otel

The terrace was a highlight. We’d go up at the end of each night to enjoy drinks and the amazing view, and the hotel had hot and cold drinks available there around the clock. Breakfast was a perfect Turkish open buffet, so we never ate breakfast elsewhere all week. We stayed at Acer gunes hotel for a week at the end of August with my husband and one-year-old daughter, and everything exceeded my expectations. It’s a family-run place right by the beach, with sea views and balconies on the rooms. The hotel and our room were very clean, and the staff were lovely, welcoming, and helpful. We had an amazing time and would definitely come back.

The food was great, and the beach is less than a minute away. Mudur Huseyin was especially friendly, and the staff were excellent. Thank you, Mr Askin.

We were satisfied overall and might stay here again if we return to Didim. We stopped at this small hotel for one night on the way back to Izmir after our Bodrum holiday. Its central Altinkum location is fantastic. We had booked a room without a balcony, but the staff upgraded us to one with a balcony, and it was nice to sit out there in the evening. The room itself was a bit small. We missed having a shower cabin in the bathroom and slippers in the room. There were two complimentary bottles of water in the minibar, but nothing else. I was surprised there was a safe. Our booking was room only, as we’d specifically chosen no breakfast; the hotel had stopped serving breakfast as of September 20th. Cleanliness seemed adequate, and I didn’t notice any problems.

We had a nice little break, and the hotel was good for service and quality. The gentleman who handled the reservation and room was very helpful. Our room was clean and adequate, with a sea view, balcony, and an extremely comfortable bed and pillows. For a two-day stay, the small sink and lack of a shower weren’t a problem, though I can see that being an issue on a longer holiday. It wasn’t the disaster some reviews describe. Breakfast was delicious and quite sufficient, and the terrace’s free drinks all day and night were a big plus. The restaurant opposite had live music until 2 a.m., but it didn’t go on until morning. We were worn out from the sea and didn’t even hear it. The food at the market is always the same and tasteless, which could be a problem. There are fancy beach spots two minutes from the sea, including the Blue Flag municipal public beach. We went to the public beach and got in free, probably because it was the end of the season. The water was crystal clear, with lots of fish, some a bit large. There are food and drink options at restaurants along the beach. We bought ours at a chain market within walking distance.
