Dikelya Hotel

The staff were very nice and helpful, and the beach wasn’t crowded. The balconies also have a good view, especially at sunset. The building is old, though, and the rooms look a bit damaged, as in the pictures. Breakfast was a disaster. The closets are tiny, and there wasn’t even a kettle, glass, or bottle. For this level of service, the price isn’t fair.

We booked two rooms for four people through Expedia two months ahead. At check-in, the hotel said each room’s reservation covered only one person and demanded an extra fee per room. We showed the booking details, but they wouldn’t accept them, saying the EUR/TRY rate had changed and the price we’d booked at was now too cheap. An Expedia officer called to confirm the reservation, but couldn’t communicate with the hotel because nobody at reception spoke English. Expedia emailed the confirmation, yet the hotel insisted it hadn’t arrived, even though I received the same email at the same time. After four hours of arguing, they rudely kicked us out at 00:30, despite our reservation. We spent another two hours finding somewhere else in Dikili. There we saw a Dikelya hotel staff member and discussed what had happened. Perla was partly owned by them too, and he said he regretted the situation and wanted to offer a discount for this hotel. That didn’t undo the awful experience. The worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

The garden was cozy, with free tea and coffee, and our room had a nice sea view. It was very clean and modern, with air conditioning. The staff were very friendly.

The staff were friendly, the beach was pretty, and the food was good. The bed was comfortable and the view was nice.
