Margi Hotel

The rooms are spacious, and the staff are friendly and speak English. It’s centrally located near restaurants and a shopping centre, and the buffet breakfast was great.

The elevator problems made me anxious about getting trapped, so I took the stairs for most of my stay, even after working out at the gym. The first elevator was out of service on two mornings in a row. The floor indicators and displays were also broken or glitching in the right-hand elevator and, more recently, the middle one. Elevator maintenance really needs to improve, and the displays should be fixed so people can tell which floor they’re on. Apart from that, it’s a nice, decent hotel in a good spot near shops and the city center. Breakfast was good, and the gym had facilities and equipment.

The rooms were clean and cleaned efficiently, which was the only pleasant part of the stay. The staff were very unhelpful. As a stranger in town, I asked for basic information about the area around the hotel and was simply referred to Google. The pillows weren’t good, definitely not what I’d expect at a five-star hotel. Breakfast was decent, though nothing special, and the coffee was awful. I hope you can improve, Margi hotel.

This was the worst five-star hotel I’ve stayed in. The room and especially the bathrooms were very dirty. We asked to change rooms, but the second one was just as dirty as the first. See the pictures. The night light didn’t work either. They advertise a double standard room with breakfast for 50 euros a night, but at checkout they asked for 65 euros. Their explanation was that “prices are going up and down.” Seriously? I wouldn’t recommend this place.
