Volens Hotel

Awesome, really.

The room was cramped and stuffy, and hygiene was poor. The hairdryer was broken too. I definitely wouldn't choose this hotel in winter, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I was in Gebze for a business meeting, and my client booked the hotel without knowing much about it. The room was very cold when I arrived. The air conditioning hadn't warmed it after two hours, so I asked for a heater. Cold air kept coming through the windows, and I woke up several times during the night because I was uncomfortable and cold.

The damp smell and dirt kept me awake all night, and I ended up leaving early. I felt uneasy about whether someone might come into my room while I was in that awful state. I’m disgusted that I’ve included a few photos. I can't tell if we stayed in a hotel or a construction site. If you're looking for a truly awful experience, Volens Hotel is the place. The cleanliness was terrible. They gave me a damp room, so I called as soon as I walked in to report it. They said there wasn't another room and that they couldn't give me a refund, then spoke to me rudely.

The breakfast was very poor too. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I had to stay there again because the other hotels had no rooms. The first stay was a mistake, and so was this one. Cleanliness was below standard, with no attention to it. I reported that the TV wasn't working, but they didn't bother to fix it and said there were no other rooms. When I tried to check out, they said they couldn't because my card had already been charged. Since they couldn't cancel the credit card payment, I was forced to stay at a hotel where I couldn't get any service.
