Emit Cave Hotel

The location was nice, and the staff were very friendly and helpful with arranging taxis and transport. Breakfast was delicious and prepared quickly. But we had problems in our connecting room: the bathroom smelled bad and there was nothing we could do about it. The radiator leaked and soaked my brother’s shoe. Noise late into the night, around 11 or 12, was overwhelming, so I had to sleep with earplugs to fall asleep. The rooms could use some work.

We booked a Turkish Night Show with dinner at the last minute after hiking. The hotel boss drove us there, showed us the lovely pottery workshop, and took us around to see the town’s beautiful night view. The owner is a pottery artist, and both the staff and owner provided excellent service. The cave room and bathroom were spacious and clean, and the traditional Turkish breakfast was very good quality. We’d strongly recommend this Emit Cave Hotel Goreme, which is in a great location.

We only stayed one night, but had a great time. The room was spacious and clean, with an amazing view. In the morning, we enjoyed Turkish breakfast while taking in the beautiful scenery. I highly recommend staying here.

The room and bathroom were big, the space was comfortable, and breakfast was nice, with lots of cheese and spreads. The rooftop view was good too. I got a good last-minute price because I wanted to catch a hot air balloon ride the next day. But I was disappointed by the location and a broken key, so for me this was somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. Getting there was much harder than expected. My friend was going to drop me off before returning our rental car, since they were leaving for the next city that night. Following Google Maps, we got stuck halfway on narrow streets that felt one-way, making it difficult when cars came from the other direction. I had to carry my luggage the rest of the way, up an unpaved route that led toward an alleyway, shown as a 6 minute walk from my previous stay at the bottom of the hill. I didn’t know the area or realize it was so high up. I’d needed another place because the first hotel we shared was over my budget when I was traveling alone in a huge room, and it also had limited availability. I found this place on booking.com that morning at a good price and chose it because of its high ratings. I didn’t realize the walk up would be such a hike. Carrying my luggage in the drizzle was especially unpleasant. From the alley I climbed about 3-5 flights of steps. It felt a bit ghetto and was scary alone, especially passing construction sites and buildings. I took that way because Google showed it as the shortest walking route. I was glad it was morning and still bright enough to see the surroundings. There were no lights along that way at night. The other issue was that my room key wouldn’t lock the door from inside. Since I was traveling solo, I didn’t feel safe and had to block the door with chairs. I was glad it was only one night. I think it might work better for a group, especially with such a spacious room and someone to walk up and down the hill with. It just wasn’t a good experience for me personally.
