Traveller's Cave Hotel

We loved breakfast in the terrace dining room, with lots of delicious choices and amazing views. The centrally located property has beautiful scenery, and the cool cave rooms were nicely furnished. The staff were exceptional.

The rooftop is a great place for photos and watching the hot air balloons, and the buffet breakfast was very good. The staff were wonderful and arranged our airport shuttle both ways, doing their best to make the stay memorable. From the back, a staircase leads down into town; walking back up is harder, so a cab is useful. I can’t imagine staying lower down and missing those views. The room jacuzzi was great, though the outdoor one was out of service. The glass door gave us a view, but the room didn’t feel like a cave to us. I highly recommend the hotel.

The views were incredible, with the town lit up at night and balloons rising over the fields at sunrise. There are lots of photo spots around the property, and the buffet breakfast included with the stay helped us save on morning meals. The hotel is near the highest point in town, though, so the heat and hills can make the walk tiring. There’s a hidden staircase the staff can show you, but it’s close to 200 steps up. If walking is difficult, consider arranging a shuttle. We loved the unusual cave theme, the comfortable bed, roomy sitting area, real fireplace, and huge clean bathroom. The floor got very wet when we showered because the seal wasn’t great, but that didn’t spoil our stay. Staff were kind and helped arrange excursion shuttles, keeping us informed and safe. There isn’t a pool as stated, but there is a jacuzzi tub outside our room, room 5, with a small bistro set. My boyfriend and I couldn’t speak more highly of the place.

The stairs are worth it for the cave experience, but there are no elevators, so anyone who has trouble with stairs could ask for a room near reception. We were close to the town’s main stretch of restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops, and the staff quickly arranged an affordable transfer to and from the hotel. Our room was spacious, clean, and well kept, and really felt like a cave. The terrace has lovely views and photo props, and breakfast was very good. Staff were kind and helpful.
