Mirage World

The evening shows were the best part, with an engaging team and a good range of entertainment. The pool was absolutely freezing, though I imagine it would be nicer at the height of summer. After 10 days at mirage world, I was glad to be heading home. It wasn’t an awful hotel or holiday, but it definitely didn’t feel like four stars. We arrived at 10pm and the room wasn’t what I’d booked. It was horrendous, with loose wall lights, a dirty bathroom and cracked tiles, a grimy fridge, and filler slapped on the walls without being sanded or painted. I had to share another couple’s room that first night. They moved me to block c the next day. It was basic but clean, with working air con and a balcony. The food was limited and repetitive. If you’re fussy, you’ll get tired of chicken nuggets and chips. The boiled turkey and vegetables were awful. Drinks were limited to vodka, gin and whiskey, and the juice was horrible. Personally, I wouldn’t stay again. Maybe 4-5 out of 10.

The setting is lovely, with a great mountain view and a beautiful atmosphere. It’s also close to town, and the location is just perfect. We’ve come with family and as adults, and there’s always something for everyone. We stay for a week and come back every six months. The entertainment staff have been amazing, from the kids’ dances and bingo to the evening shows. Big shout-out to Alex and meow, they really made our stay. I’d definitely recommend the hotel!

The entertainment team were top notch. Yanisand the DJ and the rest of the crew were always busy with darts, bingo and water polo. They’re a great bunch, and having the pool inflatable out was a really good laugh. We stayed seven days while renovations were going on, but that didn’t put us off. The food was good, plentiful and varied, with the usual chips and nuggets for the kids. Staff in the restaurant were always busy. The pool areas stayed tidy, and I found the staff pleasant. Some, though not all, were always up for a laugh. The slides can get busy, but a five-minute wait is no big deal.

Our room door wouldn’t close or lock, and despite several complaints, nobody properly fixed it. That’s a serious safety problem. Reception seemed unprepared when we arrived, and the ongoing construction made the place noisy and unpleasant. The lift was broken for four days, and electrical cupboards were left unlocked where children could reach them. The lack of maintenance and care for guest safety was unacceptable. I wouldn’t stay here again.
