Alright Suites

The service was awful, and the way customers were treated felt degrading. There were insects everywhere, the fridge smelled bad, the bed wasn’t clean, and the bathroom was messy. Staff dealt with people rudely, shouted at them, and threw their belongings outside the room without even asking. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all.

The pictures online give a very different impression from the reality. The street is tiny, and the place felt like an old building rather than a hotel. There was a very small reception area, really just a desk, a chair, and a man sitting there. I wouldn’t suggest it for a family. It’s the worst hotel I’ve ever seen.

During my seven-night stay, the sheets were changed only once. The showers were unbelievably small, as were the toilet paper rolls and the soap. Luckily, I travel with plenty of tissues. The phone situation was a mess. There was no Wi-Fi, and calls from France or even Istanbul either wouldn’t connect or dropped halfway through. Sometimes nobody answered because there wasn’t always a receptionist. When someone did pick up, their English was only approximate, and they didn’t speak German or French. My husband tried for three days to reach my room, and I missed an important meeting with friends in Istanbul. I also found the owners’ wife’s question about why I was a woman traveling alone very rude. I wouldn’t ask her why she wears a veil. I’m tolerant of everyone. My second trip to Istanbul was ruined.

The last 24 hours of my stay were awful. We were outside the hotel and only a couple of minutes late getting back, but then found all our clothes and belongings dumped on the floor outside, with no one having told us anything. It felt as if we were being treated like animals instead of customers. Nobody even seemed to care. I’ve never had service this bad, and it was the worst hotel experience I’ve had.
